MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2011 Sep 10 Observer(s): Paul Martini, Joe Antognini Institution(s): OSU Instrument: OSMOS (Red detector) Worked for 8 hours (last half of the night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Clouds all night. Beg: Overcast, Winds Moderate Mid: Seeing 1.2 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Light & Variable End: Seeing 1.2 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Light & Variable Observing Summary: It was cloudy with high humidity in the first half of the night. We opened once the humidity dropped. There were thin cirrus clouds for the remainder of the night. We determined that the anomalously low sensitivity of the red detector was due to the shutter not staying open. We increased the shutter hold voltage and we had no further problems with the shutter. We took photometric and spectroscopic data on two spectrophotometric standards and a high-z quasar. We also took data to test the gain of the detector and to evaluate its crosstalk. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2011 Sep 11 [6:11:44]
