MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2012 Apr 15 Observer(s): Rebecca Santana Institution(s): Ohio University Instrument: R4K OSMOS Worked for 8 hours (most of the night) Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1.18 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Moderate Mid: Seeing 1.2 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Moderate End: Seeing 0.9 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Moderate Observing Summary: Humidity has been consistently above 50% the whole night, water vapor and high cirrus clouds caused non photometric conditions. Had the power flicker twice in the night, everything stayed on, and I checked to make sure none of the breakers had been flipped. Around 23:00, a few of my exposures ended up the same as had happened on 4/12, where it appeared as if I had taken a 10 min zero. I spend about an hour trying changing targets and trying to figure out what was going on before it sort of fixed itself, continued with observations. Also to note is that there has been some odd shapes going around the aperture that don't match with a blocked guide probe. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2012 Apr 16 [4:45:33]
