MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2012 Apr 20 Observer(s): Ryan Hickox Institution(s): Dartmouth Instrument: OSMOS+R4K Worked for 8 hours (all night) Conditions were Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm Mid: Seeing 1.3 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm End: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable Observing Summary: Observed three cluster masks with OSMOS. Weather was clear, seeing 1-1.5 A mishap on the part of the observer: the dewar was accidentally left filling too long in the evening (not exactly sure how long, maybe ~10 min). It's not clear how much was wasted, although there still appears to be a fair amount of LN2 in the dewar on the hand truck. The cluster slit masks have been removed from OSMOS. The 1.4 arcsec center slit is in the correct (default) slot (#2) but the other slits have not yet been replaced. The table has been updated to reflect the current configuration. The rotator has been set back to zero in advance of the upcoming imaging campaign. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2012 Apr 21 [4:45:36]
