MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2012 Dec 05 Observer(s): M.Musin Institution(s): University of Missouri Instrument: OSMOS + B4k Worked for 15 hours (all night) Conditions were Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1.35 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm Mid: Seeing 1.32 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Calm End: Seeing 1.0 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm Observing Summary: It was a good night overall. We did not have any big problems. One issue was that for unknown reason when we pointed the guider to a dim star, it appeared in the corner of the Autoguider Image window and when guider tried to put it to the center of the window it changed the coordinates of the telescope by -5 . It happened 3 times, after this we started choosing brighter stars even though they were closer to the FOV of the camera, so we got some vignetting. During the night we had to change the focus for several times. We started with 4370, then went to 4365, 4350 and ended up with 4355. The script that we use (focus4k_2012dec_step5.pro) helped us a lot. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2012 Dec 6 [7:33:05]
