MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2012 Dec 17 Observer(s): Haojing Yan & Zhiyuan Ma Institution(s): University of Missouri-Columbia Instrument: OSMOS + B4K Worked for 10 hours (all night) Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm Mid: Seeing 1.2 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable End: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Light & Variable Observing Summary: It was pretty clear most of the night, however clouds came up from all over the horizon at around 5:00am MST. The temperature varied by quite a lot throughout the night, from ~ 10 deg C at the beginning to 4.0 deg C at 3-4am MST, and it came up to ~ 5-6 deg C in the last two hours before twilight. The highly variable temperature might be the reason that we could not get stable focus. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2012 Dec 18 [7:30:02]
