MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2012 Dec 26 Observer(s): Terndrup, Leighly Institution(s): OSU, Oklahoma Instrument: TIFKAM Worked for 3 hours (last half of the night) Conditions were Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: High Humidity from 18:00 until 02:00. Beg: Overcast, Winds Moderate, Snow! Mid: Patchy Clouds, Winds Calm, Drippy End: Seeing 2 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm, Bad seeing Observing Summary: Broad Absorption-line Quasars. Opened at 3:00 a.m. when humidity declined sufficiently. Spent the time learning the operation of the guider and the telescope for spectroscopy. The telescope - as in the past - does *not* execute position offsets accurately enough to move the targets along the slit for dithered positions. We worked out a technique that is adequate, although somewhat slower. Too bad there's no coffee! Big change from past practices. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2012 Dec 28 [6:59:25]
