MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2012 Jan 22 Observer(s): Jason Pinkney & DJ Pleshinger Institution(s): Ohio Northern University Instrument: Modspec + Nellie Worked for 6 hours (part of the night) Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Cirrus, Winds Light & Variable Mid: Clear, Winds Light & Variable End: Clear, Winds Light & Variable Observing Summary: Clouds in the west at beginning of night. Since DJ and I didn't have the grating we need we spent the night getting used to the new software and equipment. We practiced with the OWL by taking biases and flats at the beginning of the night. We took flats at evenly spaced slit positions so that we could figure out which slit reading was really 1.0 , etc. We then opened up the dome, louvres etc, and observed some stars and galaxies. Sky appeared clear by then. We closed up before twilight being too tired to think. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2012 Jan 23 [13:25:21]
