MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2012 Jun 03 Observer(s): John Thorstensen Institution(s): Dartmouth Instrument: Nellie + Buckeye FW direct Worked for 9 hours (all night) Conditions were Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Moderate Mid: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Clear, Winds Moderate End: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Clear, Winds Moderate Observing Summary: Heavy cirrus yesterday dissipated entirely early in the evening (really! It was full moon!). Seeing was mediocre but quite usable. No problems. Caught a slight whiff of smoke from the Baboquivari fire when I stepped out in the morning, but nothing is visible. Also, could see a little bite out of the moon as I was closing -- it really WAS full. Nellie dewar left full. Disabled fire alarm in utility room, since it was complaining about low battery. It's remarkably difficult to tell where a noise like that is coming from ... ------------------------------ Submitted on 2012 Jun 4 [5:25:36]
