MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2012 May 30 Observer(s): John Thorstensen Institution(s): Dartmouth Instrument: Modspec + Templeton Worked for 9.5 hours (all night) Conditions were Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1-2 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable Mid: Seeing 1 arcsec, Clear, Winds Moderate End: Seeing <1 arcsec, Clear, Winds Moderate Observing Summary: A nice smooth night, with no technical problems. I used the instrument rotator and it never seized up, so the fix that was applied to that problem today may have worked. Did not have a repeat of the Andor Solis glitches, either, and Templeton behaved itself fine with the new Leach system. It does look as if the telescope pointing model might use some refreshing; if I have time over the weekend I may try to do this. Seeing was variable, and it was breezy at times. Photometric, though. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2012 May 31 [5:21:10]
