MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2012 Oct 07 Observer(s): De Rosa, Fausnaugh Institution(s): OSU Instrument: OSMOS Worked for 9 hours (all night) Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1.4 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Calm Mid: Seeing 1.2 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm End: Seeing 1.2 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm Observing Summary: We had a good night of observations. A few clouds at the beginning of the night, but it cleared up fairly soon. Prospero behaved, and we did not have any major problem. We noticed that after slewing the telescope, the PSF looks slightly triangular. The effect usually lasts a few seconds. While moving from dec -05:09 to dec +20:12 (HA between 0 and 1, airmass from 1.3 to 1) though, the effect was more persistent: ~60 sec. We don't know if this is expected, so we prefer to note it down. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2012 Oct 8 [6:40:52]
