MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2012 Oct 20

Conditions were Photometric most of the night.
Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details.

Seeing and Weather:
   Beg: Seeing 1.2 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm
   Mid: Seeing 1.2 arcsec, Clear, Winds Moderate
   End: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable

Observing Summary:

Things went smoothly until 45 min before morning twilight when the disperser wheel stopped responding.  I followed the troubleshooting steps of  disp reset  and also tried restarting Prospero, but was unable to resolve the problem.  The error message was:

 Programming Error: invalid error code:  -99
 DISPERSER request aborted with errors.

Prior to this error I observed a standard and 5 QSO targets.  The night was clear with moderate seeing.  The wind picked up a little in the middle of the night (15-20 mph) and was pretty noisy in the dome so I shut the garage door.
