MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2013 Dec 03 Observer(s): Rhiannon Griffin Institution(s): University of Oklahoma Instrument: OSMOS Worked for 10 hours (most of the night) Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: High Humidity from 3:30 until 7. Beg: Seeing 1.4 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm, humid Mid: Seeing 1.8 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Moderate, humid End: Patchy Clouds, Winds Moderate, too humid Observing Summary: No serious issues to report. The night started off clear, humid and breezy. Cirrus and patchy clouds moved in about 4 hours after sunset. Halfway through the night the wind picked up with gusts up to 35 mph. Around 3 am the humidity reached 70% outside and 85% in the dome so I shutdown for the night. Conditions did not improve. I was able to observe for about 9 hours with high seeing and some clouds. One thing to mention, although it did not affect my observing so I did not fill out a trouble report: The filter2 status switched to red stars instead of saying open part way through the night. The last time it did this it took powercycling the IE, but since I was not using filter2 I just left it alone. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2013 Dec 4 [6:01:57]
