MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2013 Dec 23 Observer(s): Halpern, Eracleous Institution(s): Columbia, Penn State Instrument: Nellie Direct Worked for 13 hours (all night) Conditions were Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1.2 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable Mid: Seeing 3. arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable End: Seeing 1.6 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable Observing Summary: Nellie saturates at around 10,000 counts above bias. Flats with 18,000 counts are useless and full of strange structure. This means that either the gain is set very high, or there is something not optimal about the settings. Other than that, exposures look normal. Has anyone else noticed this? ------------------------------ Submitted on 2013 Dec 24 [7:03:09]
