MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2013 Feb 12 Observer(s): Kevin Hainline, Chien-Ting Chen Institution(s): Dartmouth College Instrument: OSMOS Worked for 13 hours (all night) Conditions were Photometric most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 2+ arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable Mid: Seeing 2+ arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable End: Seeing 2+ arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable Observing Summary: The weather was pretty good tonight. We took a few twilight flats, then found out that the autoguider was not working . We called Eric, and problem was solved by restarting the MIS controller. We started taking spectra of standard stars and one of our targets. While observing this target there seems to be an unknown object right next to our target galaxy. We wonder if it might be a supernova? However, the humidity risen to 85% at one point so stopped observing for about an hour. After around 10:00pm the humidity dropped back. We took spectra for three targets, each has three 30min. exposures. At the end of the night, we took sky flats again. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2013 Feb 13 [6:52:50]
