MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2013 Jul 05 Observer(s): Milisavljevic, Drout, Villar Institution(s): Harvard, MIT Instrument: CCDS Worked for 4 hours (off and on through the night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Clouds all night. Beg: Overcast, Winds Calm Mid: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Overcast, Winds Calm End: Seeing 1.2 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Calm Observing Summary: Followed procedure for lightning shutdown at beginning of night. When bringing systems back online, xmis would not initialize. This was fixed by cycling power (thank Eric!). Had issues with reading out images. Resolved this by following the IC-to-Caliban transfer disk error recovery procedure. Prospero status window would not refresh correctly. Gradually less and less of the information was being displayed. Things continued to work so didn't pursue resolving this matter and still remains an issue. Clouds were not too thick and we managed to observe some bright SN targets. Around 1:15am it was too thick and we closed. We re-opened around 2:30am. Conditions were good: not too many clouds and seeing was ~ 1 at times. This is when the fun started. Overall not too bad of a first night. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2013 Jul 6 [5:05:45]
