MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2013 Mar 01 Observer(s): John Thorstensen Institution(s): Dartmouth Instrument: Modspec + Templeton Worked for 12 hours (all night) Conditions were Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1.5+ arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable Mid: Seeing 1. arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable End: Seeing 1.5+ arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm Observing Summary: Very nice night, perfectly clear but with some poor seeing at times. Warmer than last night. I'm thinking that the coordinate readouts may be drifting a bit in RA, but I can't be sure yet. I'll keep an eye on this over the weekend. I'm also getting some odd results that suggest a subtle issue with the slit viewer focus (I saw this on the 1.3m in December). I'll look at this more carefully tomorrow night if the weather permits. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2013 Mar 2 [7:20:35]
