MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2013 Mar 17 Observer(s): Marat Musin, Jacob Brown Institution(s): University of Missouri Instrument: OSMOS+R4k Worked for 11 hours (all night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Clouds from 6 until 7. Beg: Seeing 1.3 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Calm Mid: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm End: Seeing 2.1 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm Observing Summary: Pointing went really bad. We had to do re-pointing every 5-7 exposures (for the same object). It influences our guiding - we were unable to locate the stars that we saw in the JSkycalc on the GUIDER display. One time the guiding star was going counter-clockwise in the Autoguider Image window with period ~2-3 minutes per rotation. The message Moving With Autodome OFF was on the TCS screen for the last half of the night, but we kept on working since the Dome Error was within 1-2 degrees. For the third night we observe strange smearing at the edges of the images when we do twilight flat. It appears for ADU>35000 ------------------------------ Submitted on 2013 Mar 18 [6:58:26]
