MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2013 May 09 Observer(s): Jenna Lemonias, Steven Mohammed Institution(s): Columbia Instrument: CCDS Worked for 7 hours (all night) Conditions were Photometric most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Clear, Winds Calm Mid: Clear, Winds Calm End: Clear, Winds Calm Observing Summary: Good weather. Telescope seemed very squeaky at times. Some problems with the guider camera and software. At times it seemed to take a long time to respond to Move Guide Probe in JSkyCalc so it was hard to find guider stars. Once we were unable to move the guider camera in the positive 'y' direction using the MIS. We could move it positive or negative dx but only negative in dy. Because of this we were unable to properly get a galaxy in the slit while maintaining the guide star. So we moved on to another galaxy and the guider camera (and dx, dy) worked fine. When the finder couldn't move in positive dy direction I don't think it was stuck at a certain dy because we could move it to lower dy but not higher dy. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2013 May 10 [4:30:22]
