MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2013 May 11 Observer(s): Oey Institution(s): Michigan Instrument: CCDS Worked for 8 hours (all night) Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Clear, Winds Moderate Mid: Clear, Winds Moderate End: Clear, Winds Moderate Observing Summary: Sky was clear, but clouds were visible on horizon, so good for relative photometry, but prob not absolute. Everything generally went well, except that guider was not behaving very well. Problem especially noticeable at larger zenith angles. Guider position started moving star out of slit. We had to stop guiding during some longer exposures, and just monitoring guiding by hand. This was similar to what we noticed with the previous observers. We weren't at parallactic angle, so I wonder if it may have been due to atmospheric dispersion, but even near zenith the guiding is less than ideal. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2013 May 12 [21:23:59]
