MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2013 May 12 Observer(s): Oey Institution(s): Michigan Instrument: CCDS Worked for 7.5 hours (all night) Conditions were Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Clear, Winds Moderate Mid: Clear, Winds Light & Variable End: Clear, Winds Light & Variable Observing Summary: Lost about 20 minutes at start of night because accidentally killed XTCS GUI. Took quite some time flipping through all the documentation to find out how to restart it. I think I finally found that it's in the pull-down menu from my old notes, not any of the notebooks and cheat sheets. In general the hodge-podge of documentation is overwhelming and very difficult to use, both for just operating and also troubleshooting. As an aside, one of the students commented that there are so many Emergency info things posted that I wouldn't know which one to look at in an emergency Other than that, everything went fine. The plastic tie on the dewar needle broke while we were holding it, but we found the extra ties and put a new one on.
