MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2013 Nov 09 Observer(s): Frank & Holoienen Institution(s): OSU Instrument: OSMOS Worked for 12 hours (all night) Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 0.8 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Calm Mid: Seeing 0.8 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Calm End: Seeing 0.8 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Calm Observing Summary: Good part first : we were able to solve our acquisition problem (by realising that the rotation had been changed, and hence by simply switching signs and dx <-> dy, everything worked perfectly well -- could have been achieved by a simple initialisation, probably, too. Why yesterday however sometimes half or double the indicated values were necessary, remains mysterious.) At one point, a severe loss of guiding & tracking lead the telescope heading towards a potentially bad spot, see separate trouble report for details. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2013 Nov 10 [7:45:46]
