MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2013 Oct 27

Worked for 12.5 hours (all night)
Conditions were Photometric most of the night.
Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details.

Seeing and Weather:
   High Winds all night.
   Beg: Seeing 1 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable
   Mid: Seeing 2 arcsec, Clear, Winds High
   End: Seeing 1.4 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Moderate

Observing Summary:

The night overall was quite good. Seeing at the beginning of the 
night was right about 1 , but the wind picked up around 0600UT 
and spoiled that a bit. It got quite gusty for a bit (up to 
31mph, according to the weather monitor) and stayed moderately
windy until the end of the night. 

Twice tonight I had to power cycle the MIS box because the guider
stopped responding. Rather, it thinks it's moving but it really
isn't. This didn't really impact me because it took about ~2 
minutes to resolve, total. I lost pointing when trying to hit 
a high airmass target, but that only set me back about 10 mins.

Tonight was a good test of my 2.4m observing skills, and I 
wonder if Jules was somehow secretly behind this...
