MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2013 Oct 29 Observer(s): Gladders,Johnson Institution(s): UChicago,Michigan Instrument: OSMOS Worked for 10 hours (most of the night) Conditions were Photometric most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: High Humidity from 03:45 until end. Beg: Seeing 1.4 arcsec, Clear, Winds Moderate Mid: Seeing 1.4 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable End: Clear, Winds Light & Variable Observing Summary: TCS froze for no apparent reason mid-exposure. Lost ~45 minutes to diagnosing and resetting pointing etc. Recovered fine once we figured out what was needed (thanks Eric!). Observed half dozen targets with OSMOS prism successfully. We may have been caught a little off guard by rapid rise in humidity, but at no point did dewpoint get within more than few degrees of temp, and a physical check of surfaces in dome did not indicate any moisture. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2013 Oct 30 [4:08:41]
