MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2014 Feb 06 Observer(s): Halpern Institution(s): Columbia Instrument: OSMOS No Observing (see comments below) Conditions were Overcast most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Clouds all night. Observing Summary: I arrived a day later than planned because of the snowstorm in the east. Drove up with the Santa Fe, arriving at about 9pm. It has been overcast all night, so at least I can say that I didn't give up any observing time. I tried out the calibration lamps and different formats of the detector. I understand that Filter2 is not working. I can mostly get along with the SDSS filters in Filter1, except that it would be useful to move the B filter into Filter1 in place of either one of the DES filters. Obviously, there has to be an open position in each filter wheel. If no observer is going to claim the night after my run (Monday), I may be interested in using that night, since I don't leave Tucson until Tuesday morning. Unless there is some engineering work already planned for Monday? Since it is scheduled to be cloudy for the rest of the night, I will fill the dewar and go to bed now, to put some sleep time in the bank. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2014 Feb 7 [3:36:18]
