MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2014 Jun 11

Worked for 3 hours (part of the night)
Conditions were Overcast most of the night.
Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details.

Seeing and Weather:
   Clouds all night.
   Beg: Patchy Clouds, Winds Moderate
   Mid: Overcast, Winds Light & Variable, a drizzle of rain
   End: Overcast, Winds Light & Variable

Observing Summary:

Most of the night, the dome was closed due to clouds. 

We got a few good hours of observing, through a gap in the clouds, however. 
During that time I experimented with the guider probe, and discovered that the 
offsets were still not working reliably or predictably at all, even with using the X 
and Y coordinates directly.

I did find that I could work pretty quickly by turning off guiding, nodding the
telescope with the paddle, and re-starting guiding, as long as I'm very careful to 
click in the very center of the guide star so that the guider doesn't pull the target 
off the slit. I'll be using this method for the rest of the run.
