MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2014 Jun 17 Observer(s): John Thorstensen & Erek Alper Institution(s): Dartmouth Instrument: echelle ccd + buckeye FW Worked for 9 hours (all night) Conditions were Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1. arcsec, Clear, Winds Moderate Mid: Seeing 1. arcsec, Clear, Winds Moderate End: Seeing 1.2 arcsec, Clear, Winds Moderate Observing Summary: A very good night, with quite decent seeing. Started out clear with a few fragmented cumulus, which went away. A bit windy but nothing excessive. Seeing degraded slightly toward the end as ambient temperature dropped a ways below mirror -- lowered set point on mirror A/C a couple of degrees for tomorrow night in case it stays as cool as it is. Pointing is mediocre but usable - there's an obvious scale error in dec in the sense that in the north you search farther north for your target, and in the south you search farther south. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2014 Jun 18 [5:21:01]
