MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2014 May 31 Observer(s): R. Mark Wagner Institution(s): OSU Instrument: OSMOS Worked for 8 hours (all night) Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1.0 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable Mid: Seeing 1.0 arcsec, Clear, Winds Moderate End: Seeing 1.0 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable Observing Summary: Some light cirrus during the night could be seen on the all-sky camera. Winds picked after midnight for a short time with gusts up to 20 mph. Seeing was around 1 arcsec all night. Prospero hung twice. We had to Cntl-\ to get out of it. Then launch Prospero again and do a restart. OSMOS status came right back up. In spite of the hang, the two exposures underway completed just fine. Telescope pointing and offset pointing are problematical. Slit acquisition overheads are high using OSMOS as a result. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2014 Jun 1 [5:26:54]
