MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2014 Oct 10 Observer(s): Thorstensen & Alper Institution(s): Dartmouth Instrument: modspec + echelle CCD Worked for 12 hours (all night) Conditions were Photometric most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable Mid: Seeing 1 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable End: Seeing 1 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable Observing Summary: A very nice night with mostly quite good seeing. Just a couple of small glitches, described in trouble report for the record. Dome issue from last night did not recur; a single exposure showed evidence of incipient red dropout, but very thankfully that wasn't a problem either. Humidity dropped well below 50%. In June I ran a pointing test, and during shutdown Eric installed the model coefficients I derived from the test. Tonight's program involved quite a few slews, and I can confirm what Mark and others have reported, namely that the pointing is dramatically improved. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2014 Oct 11 [6:18:36]
