MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2014 Oct 16 Observer(s): Thorstensen Institution(s): Dartmouth Instrument: modspec + echelle CCD Worked for 7+ hours (first half of the night) Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Clouds from 1 AM until end. Beg: Seeing 1-2 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Light & Variable Mid: Seeing 1 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Light & Variable End: Overcast, Winds Light & Variable Observing Summary: A very good night until about 1 AM, when it clouded over. Closed up -- leaving before twilight to catch a plane. Next observers (Rob Fesen and Christine Black) arrived before midnight and stayed up to watch stuff for a while. A little later, Haverford post-doc Jonathan Hargis and four undergrads came through for a tour. I wore my lucky red Haverford shirt for the occasion (I graduated from there long ago). RA reading is drifting upward pretty fast, leading to unnecessary difficulty in finding targets. And it was pointing so well! No other trouble. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2014 Oct 17 [2:42:52]
