MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2014 Oct 26 Observer(s): Ryan Chornock Institution(s): Ohio University Instrument: CCDS/Retrocam Worked for 4 hours (first half of the night) Bad weather most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Clouds all night. Beg: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Light & Variable Mid: Seeing 1.0 arcsec, Overcast, Winds Light & Variable End: Seeing N/A arcsec, Overcast, Winds Light & Variable Observing Summary: Mostly washed out by clouds and high humidity. Open in evening twilight -- closed for 1 hour due to humidity -- open for 4 hours through clouds -- closed for good at 12:15am. One of those frustrating nights for weather where you get a little bit of mediocre data and then shut down, but it is never definitively bad enough to go to bed. I was able to successfully get a little data on a few bright objects. The conditions were marginal for much of time I was open. The humidity hovered between 70-80% and the clouds were variable, but usually too thick (>2 mags) for my primary targets. Shut down around 12:15am when the humidity crept back up into the 80s again and I noticed condensation on my car. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2014 Oct 27 [7:34:21]
