MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2015 Apr 01

Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night.
No equipment or software problems were encountered.

Seeing and Weather:

Observing Summary:

I ran the line calibrations and dark flats. I then tried to set up
pointing but the telescope RA and Dec on the tcs monitor were very
large (RA~14 00 00).I accidentally hit Go but then hit stop right 
away because I saw the RA. This made the telescope move a few degrees
from zenith. I couldn't get it to go back to zenith with the paddle
in the dome or in the control room. Eric realized the computers thought
the telescope was pointing somewhere past its limits so he reset the 
coordinates and afterwards I could move the telescope. After putting
it to zenith according to the online guide, I had difficulty finding
the bright nearby star. I eventually realized the focus was far
off and ran scripts to determine the best focus. I changed the focus
but again had difficulty finding the nearby bright star. I moved
the telescope to zenith many times trying to set up the pointing.
The weather seemed ok although the moon was nearly full and overhead
in the beginning of the night so at first I thought this might be
why I cannot see nearby bright stars that are close to zenith.
