MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2015 Dec 03 Observer(s): Fausnaugh Institution(s): OSU Instrument: OSMOS Worked for 9 hours (all night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1.3 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Calm Mid: Seeing 1.6 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Calm End: Overcast, Winds Calm Observing Summary: Reasonably good conditions (cirrus with decent seeing) until the next observers arrived and brought the clouds...... Around 3am it became overcast, and I have an early flight, so closed up and will take a nap. Observed: ASASSN 15th, 15tj (spectra), 15ln, 15qc, MASTER OTJ041227, 15go (imaging) SDSS215421 (Frank) also, ASASSN 15ih, but severely affected by clouds. Feige110, Hiltner 102 standard stars 2 minor technical problems---The dome entered the so-called fugue state near the middle of the night. Found it easiest just to move it by hand. It did recover when I closed. While taking full 4kx4k biases in the evening, the readout sequence froze and prospero filenames did not update. Hitting ctr+C caused two files to be output, one of which was renamed because of naming conflict. The OSMOS manual documents problems like this while taking 4kx4k biases. After running 'restart' in prospero, I had no issues. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2015 Dec 4 [3:38:35]
