MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2015 Dec 25 Observer(s): Y. Jeon, Y.-K. Sheen, D. Park Institution(s): Seoul National Univsersity Instrument: OSMOS/B Worked for 4 hours (last half of the night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Clouds all night. Beg: Overcast, Winds Moderate Mid: Patchy Clouds, Winds Moderate End: Patchy Clouds, Winds Moderate Observing Summary: We started with high humidity (~85%) and thick clouds. At 9PM, condition became better to open dome. Then, we had to close the dome right after the nitrogen purge (See 1.) because of threatening clouds.  And re-open the dome at 2AM. We have some problems. 1. Since we found a humidity ring on our first exposure image, we used the dry nitrogen and successfully removed it. We used Eric’s manual. 2. Around 2AM, the dispersion times out. We followed the troubleshooting in manual. Although the first try was failed, we can succeeded at the second try. 3. The pointing had problems. And we finally solved the problems through turning off the xtcs window and restarting it.. During our many trials, we tried to turn off 'TCS PC & Power Supply' following the solution below. http://mdm.kpno.noao.edu/index/Solutions_24/Entries/2013/5/6_2.4m_Erroneous_Pointing.html But we could not find the TCS mouse and we gave up. Anyway, we can solved our problem only reseting the xtcs window. 4. In regard to 3, please update ‘Lightning Shutdown Procedure 2.4-m Hiltner Telescope’, and especially, ‘TCS PC & Power Supply’. If there will be a lighting, we cannot shut down the TCS control program because we cannot find the TCS mouse. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2015 Dec 26 [7:17:03]
