MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2015 Jun 12 Observer(s): Zinn, J., Wilber, A., Neric, M. Institution(s): OSU, ASU Instrument: OSMOS Worked for 10 hours (all night) Conditions were Photometric most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm Mid: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm End: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm Observing Summary: Some trouble was experienced getting sky flats at the beginning and end of the night, likely because this was the first time the primary observer was on this instrument (R4K OSMOS). In particular, the CCD became heavily saturated several times, even during some of the science frames (with exposure time of 200s for r band). This resulted in further issues especially while trying to take sky flats, where time is of the essence. Seeing conditions were not sub-arcsecond, but was consistent 1-1.5 throughout the night. The sky was exceptionally clear throughout the night, and humidity was low. The science goal of the night's run was to image gravitational lens candidates. However, the seeing was likely not good enough to result in images of high enough resolution to permit confirmation or rejection of the seven candidates that were observed. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2015 Jun 13 [5:37:48]
