MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2015 May 03 Observer(s): Thorstensen&Alper Institution(s): Dartmouth Instrument: modspec + echelle CCD Worked for 6 hours (off and on through the night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: High Humidity from 11 PM until 1:30A. Beg: Seeing 1.5? arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Light & Variable Mid: Clear, Winds Calm End: Seeing 2 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Light & Variable Observing Summary: Odd weather in afternoon with fair-weather cumulus and some spots of rain and virga. Breezy, too. Cleared off around sunset, and winds quieted down, but humidity climbed gradually, and we closed around 11 PM. Tstorms visible in far north. RH decreased around 1:30 PM so we opened again. Had to run dry N2 to clear dewar condensation, but conditions held for the most part for the rest of the night, though RH came up toward end. Closed a little early to get to the airport. Seeing wasn't great, and with the moon just passing full around sunset it was a mite bright, too.
