MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2015 Nov 20 Observer(s): Frank Institution(s): OSU Instrument: OSMOS Worked for 13 hours (all night) Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1.2 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Calm Mid: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Moderate End: Seeing 1.2-3 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Calm Observing Summary: Great night again ! Machinery worked almost perfectly -- only exception : dome went into dreaded 'fugue' state on second to last observation. Had to move dome during that one, and the last one manually, as dome kept reverting to said rumbling around. In the end, when I sent it home , it finally stopped at some point of time, but way off target. So, again, manually brought it back to home , and then had to tell TCS that it is at 320, and not 187 degrees, as TCS erroneously believed. Hope it will start up fine tomorrow, and not fall into that wandering state again. Again, there was a brief spell (2 hours max) of extremely bad seeing (from around 2-4am local time). ------------------------------ Submitted on 2015 Nov 21 [6:11:55]
