MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2015 Sep 05 Observer(s): R. Mark Wagner Institution(s): OSU Instrument: OSMOS Worked for 2 hours (part of the night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: High Humidity all night. Beg: Fog/Low Clouds, Winds Calm Mid: Seeing 1.8 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm, RH 69-80% End: Fog/Low Clouds, Winds Calm Observing Summary: Night started out with threatening clouds. Conditions improved and after I got everything setup I opened around 22:30. There were several problems that are described in a trouble report. First, I had the same trouble with the OSMOS disperser indexing as Stephan did. It would not reset, move, or index at all. I did find a work around. Second, there was moisture on the CCD window. That went away after 15 minutes of purging with dry nitrogen. Third and the bigger problem is that I cannot get the guider stages to move at all. I reset the MIS window several times to no avail. I looked on the telescope for a box that might be off. It acts like something is turned off, disconnected, or there is a comm problem. I closed around 12:30 am after I couldn't resolve the problem. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2015 Sep 6 [1:03:56]
