MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2015 Sep 22 Observer(s): Paust, Jordan, Walker Institution(s): Whitman/Dartmouth Instrument: OSMOS/4K No Observing (see comments below) Bad weather most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: High Humidity all night. Observing Summary: Exciting night. Thunder storms swept through from about 4-8 pm as a last gasp from the low pressure system that's been causing us so much trouble. By about 10:30 it was crystal clear. Unfortunately, the humidity was around 92% in the dome. We opened the garage door and the louvers and pointed the fan at the wet carpet along the west wall in hopes that we could get enough water up that, should the outside humidity drop. At one point, we did have measurements of the dome and outdoor humidity of 84.5%, but water was condensing on the windows of our rental car it it wouldn't have been worth opening up for a half hour at sunrise. (Actually, it would have been, I could really use some sky flats.) The good news is that everything should be dry by tomorrow and the forecast looks perfect. Although saying that probably jinxes me. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2015 Sep 23 [4:29:01]
