MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2016 Dec 01 Observer(s): Douglas, Núñez Institution(s): Columbia University Instrument: Modspec/Echelle Worked for 5.5 hours (first half of the night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Clouds from 05:00 until 10:30. Beg: Clear, Winds Calm Mid: Cirrus, Winds Calm End: Cirrus, Winds Calm Observing Summary: Cirrus clouds took over the sky near the end of the first half of the night. At that moment, we brought the telescope to zenith, closed the mirror covers, and re-filled the dewer. After 3.5 hours the sky partially cleared and so we attempted to open the mirror covers again, but the west cover failed to open. We then called it a night and, in any case, cirrus clouds kept covering part of the sky for the rest of the night. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2016 Dec 2 [3:29:05]
