MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2016 Dec 12 Observer(s): Jessica Klusmeyer Institution(s): MDM Instrument: OSMOSB4k Worked for 14 hours (all night) Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Clouds all night. Beg: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Calm Mid: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Calm End: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Calm Observing Summary: Clouds all night, still able to view targets Around 0100 dome was not moving to correct location, reset encoders, moved to correct position. Have had this problem multiple times before tonight Same issue with guide probe and large rotator angles as last proxy run had to change angle to find guide stars Towards the end of the night thought TCS/ JSkyCal had failed, coordinates were not sending from program but found out could move telescope with xtcs. Was able to park scope Couldn't find similar problem in trouble reports because this was observer error. Noticed that another targets coordinates went to TCS, lost 15 min due to missed decimal in target list. No other problems, dome was fine for rest of night. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2016 Dec 13 [7:21:22]
