MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2016 Dec 14 Observer(s): Jessica Klusmeyer Institution(s): MDM Instrument: OSMOSB4k Worked for 13 hours (all night) Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Clouds all night. Beg: Seeing 1.6 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Calm Mid: Seeing 1.7 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Calm End: Seeing 1.7 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Calm Observing Summary: Same as last night, high thin cloud coverage Setting up on a standard at start of night noticed guide star was not as bright as expected. still had target in image so didn't think much of it but when moving to align target noticed MIS showed guider at 0X. Knew of previous trouble report, used solution listed, back on sky without issue. failed two more times during the night, same fix to get back on sky Got an email from 1.3m Observer very early in the night. Dome at 1.3 was not responding, lost an hour trying to help remote observer (see trouble report). Had to call Eric, used solution from previous 1.3m trouble report to fix problem. Clouds/moon made it very difficult to find fainter objects No other problems tonight, did not notice squeaky drives (maybe temperature related?) ------------------------------ Submitted on 2016 Dec 15 [7:46:08]
