MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2016 Feb 23 Observer(s): R. M. Wagner Institution(s): OSU Instrument: OSMOS Worked for 10.5 hours (all night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: High Winds all night. Beg: Seeing 1.6 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds High Mid: Seeing 3.0 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds High End: Seeing 4.3 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds High Observing Summary: This night was similar to the previous one except the high winds and poor seeing were accompanied by moderate cirrus clouds all night. I measured 1.6 arcsec FWHM at the start of the night. Winds were around 20 mph all night with one gust up to 34 mph. By the end of the night the seeing had degraded to over 4 arcsec. After three consecutive failed slit acquisitions on new targets around the sky I decided to close. No problems were encountered. Some morning calibrations are running but they should be done by the time Paul and Tony arrive for the day. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2016 Feb 24 [5:11:55]
