MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2016 Jan 17

Worked for 13 hours (all night)
Conditions were Photometric most of the night.
Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details.

Seeing and Weather:
   Beg: Clear, Winds Calm
   Mid: Clear, Winds Calm
   End: Clear, Winds Calm

Observing Summary:

Our first totally clear night! However, the seeing was almost
indescribably bad for a few hours - I've never seen stars blur
so much before (on both the 1.3 and the 2.4, so I don't think I
was going insane).

Aside from that, a few notes, detailed further in the trouble
report:

- The sqeaking on the 2.4 persists. Hopefully we'll be able to
figure that out sooner rather than later.

- The telescope decided twice during the night to slew to the
east, seemingly at random. This has nothing to do with the
guider, which for once worked perfectly fine.

- Around 2:45 am (when I noticed it) the dome AC computer
started flashing:
 SYSTEM DISABLED -- Sensors appear to be malfunctioning 
I have no idea what would have brought this on.
