MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2016 Jan 18 Observer(s): Alper Institution(s): Dartmouth Instrument: Modspec/Echelle Worked for 9 hours (most of the night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Clouds from 17:30 until 23:30. Beg: Overcast, Winds Calm Mid: Patchy Clouds, Winds Calm End: Clear, Winds Calm Observing Summary: Lots of clouds all day, predicted to clear around midnight. Hit a hole at 9:30 pm and began, though conditions were still pretty bad until right around midnight. Everything was smooth sailing from then on out. The telecope squeaking has largely gone away, so new grease was perhaps the key. There's still a tiny bit, but it's minimal. The guider also only went haywire once, so that's a plus. And finally, unfortunately, the dome AC computer is giving the malfunctioning error message again. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2016 Jan 19 [6:48:51]
