MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2016 May 05 Observer(s): Ryan Chornock Institution(s): Ohio University Instrument: OSMOS/R Worked for 3 hours (first half of the night) Conditions were Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: High Winds from 10 until 4. Beg: Seeing 1.5-2 arcsec, Clear, Winds High Mid: Clear, Winds High End: Clear, Winds High Observing Summary: The night started off clear, with mediocre image quality, but breezy (~15mph). The winds increased through the first few hours of the night. I was in contact with the KPNO 4m observer and they shut down around 9:25pm due to high winds and dust. It was a little less windy down here, so I held out about another half hour before it started regularly gusting above 30mph and there was dust visible in my flashlight beam. Shutdown at ~10PM, never to reopen. The temperature also dropped overnight and we were actually nearing the humidity limit by 4:30am. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2016 May 6 [4:37:37]
