MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2016 Nov 30 Observer(s): Douglas, Núñez Institution(s): Columbia University Instrument: Modspec/Echelle Worked for 11 hours (all night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Clear, Winds Light & Variable Mid: Clear, Winds Light & Variable End: Cirrus, Winds Light & Variable Observing Summary: Seeing was bad during the first few hours, and improved after that. There were no clouds during the first half of the night. Then cirrus appeared in the north and crept up as the night progressed. Nitrogen tank appears to be leaking; its hose was frozen solid when we tried to re-fill the dewar at the end of the night, so we used instead the other tank that was underneath the ladder. When closing the dome, we first closed the main shutter all the way, then tried to close the drop out, but the drop out would not move. We then re-opened the main shutter a bit and tried closing the drop out again; then it did close. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2016 Dec 1 [5:55:50]
