MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2016 Oct 23 Observer(s): Frank & Swihart Institution(s): OSU & MSU Instrument: OSMOS Worked for 9 hours (most of the night) Conditions were Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Clouds from 6pm until 9pm. Beg: Overcast, Winds Moderate Mid: Seeing 1.0 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Light & Variable End: Seeing 0.8 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm Observing Summary: When the whole summit was engulfed in thick clouds for several hours today, I would have bet a lot of money on not being able to catch one single photon from space tonight. Glad to say that I would have lost that bet : excellent night (after 9pm local time), with surprisingly good conditions and a machinery that worked to perfection. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2016 Oct 24 [5:52:39]
