MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2017 Apr 08 Observer(s): Edmund Hodges-Kluck Institution(s): Michigan Instrument: OSMOS R4K Worked for 9 hours (all night) Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 0.86 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Light & Variable Mid: Seeing 0.9 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Light & Variable End: Seeing 1.2 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm Observing Summary: The weather was generally good, although there was high cirrus for much of the night and the humidity rose to >70% around 3 am. I observed 6 targets and shut down early in order to drive down the mountain in the morning. The dome entered its 'fugue state' at about 12:05 am, but following the instructions on the website fixed the problem after about 10 minutes. I noticed tonight that the instrument rotator offset seems off by about 1.5 degrees, but I can't tell if it's a constant offset or if there is scatter (see trouble report). ------------------------------ Submitted on 2017 Apr 9 [3:49:27]
