MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2017 Jul 13 Observer(s): Hodges-Kluck, Cho, Kang Institution(s): Michigan Instrument: OSMOS/B No Observing (see comments below) Bad weather most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Rain all night. Observing Summary: The weather was once again bad all night. A large storm system developed in the afternoon and parked over the mountain. There was a thunderstorm from about 9 pm to midnight, and thick clouds until about 2:30 am. As the sky was beginning to clear and the humidity was dropping, we optimistically brought the 1.3m out of lightning shutdown, but did not open. At 3:30 it became clear that a line of storms from Tucson was heading towards KPNO, so we put the 1.3m back in lightning shutdown. The 2.4m remained in this state all night. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2017 Jul 14 [3:49:57]
