MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observing Report for 2017 Jun 07 Observer(s): Simonian Institution(s): OSU Instrument: ModSpec/Echelle Worked for 8 hours (all night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Clouds all night. Beg: Patchy Clouds, Winds Light & Variable Mid: Cirrus, Winds Calm End: Cirrus, Winds Calm Observing Summary: There was cirrus all night, which led to a noticeably brighter background from the full moon. There was one 15-minute period where a cloud went through the Kepler field and I stopped observing. But after that, cloud opacity wasn't a problem. Was able to continue taking data until twilight, when the clouds thickened and made 8th magnitude standards look like 13th magnitude objects. After which, I closed up. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2017 Jun 8 [4:54:35]
